Takshaa enrolls specially abled students

Bangalore based Takshaa Animation Academy as part of it’s endeavor to provide equal education to all has enrolled four specially abled students for its animation course.

These students are part of the regular course but at different levels depending on their skills and have no special projects or curriculum devised for them. Additional help is provided to them as per their requirement which is also worked into their timetable.

Speaking to Animation xpress.com about this initiative, Manu Ittina, Executive Director, Takshaa Animation Academy shared, “It is proved to all that art cannot stop with only those who are able to do so physically perfect, but that, art has no barriers; provided you have the passion for it and the urge to pursue your dreams and creativity,”

“Student strength being limited in each class, preference as per the quota decided by the Academy will always be kept open for students,”

The Assisted sessions are structured in such a way that students get to interact with the faculty on a one to one basis. The faculty in turn is aware of the disability of each of these students and is spoken to individually about the support required by them.

Counselling sessions are held at the end of the first year and the end of first year of specialization by counselors and the principal. These sessions are held to give an overview of the programme structure, facilities available, direct counseling for subject expertise with the faculty concerned and a discussion of specific concerns with the Principal if any along with the parents of the candidate.

The four students have been provided special facilities in terms of additional guidance, additional time and personal interaction with the faculty. The students that have been enrolled include Harsh Todi who is specialization in modeling; Nupur Mehul enrolled for the foundation programme; Anvitha Arun enrolled for introduction to computer graphics and later on for specialization in animation; and Mathew Kurian enrolled for introduction to computer graphics. All of them are between the age group of 16 to 30 and some of them have also worked on advertisement and media campaigns.
