New ‘Aquaman’ trailer enthralls the fans with its action-packed visuals

The recent Aquaman trailer starring Jason Momoa, released by Warner Bros at Comic-Con rolled up on the internet. The five-minute segment showed that it operates within the DC Comics universe.

Although it won’t be as gruesome and dark as some may have anticipated, it does dive into the origins of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and his relationship with Mera as the pair hunt down his trident. Even though the video clip contains plenty of scenes that we have previously been treated to, it elaborates on action and humour part of it in a much more detailed manner.

The action-packed adventure that spans the underwater world of seven seas also reveals Arthur suited up in the gold and green uniform that the character wears in the comics, as well as many other characters from the animated series and movies at the end of the trailer.

In the comics, archenemy Black Manta, whose real name is David Kane, has a vendetta against Aquaman after the aquatic hero murders Kane’s wife. He goes on to have a half-Atlantean son who becomes Aquaman’s sidekick later. While Black Manta plays a minor role in the movie, his mere presence signals that we might see more of him in the future stories.

“I want our film to be a little bit different, a bit more unique. My movie plays more like science fiction fantasy film than a traditional superhero movie,” director James Wan told San Diego Comic-Con attendees.

The splashy trailer had us on the edge of our seats and we can’t wait till Aquaman hits the big screen on 31 December 2018.
