nullDA JAMMIES has added a trio of new licensees, it was announced by Head Start Entertainment, owner of the kids-based hip-hop animated brand.

The newly-signed licensees include Waterbury for sleepwear; Idea Nuova for Kids Bedroom Dcor; and Versaly for Ringtones.

“We are delighted to welcome Waterbury, Idea Nuova and Versaly as our newest DA JAMMIES licensees. Each company is a manufacturing and marketing leader within its product category, further underscoring the tremendous growth potential of our brand, said Doug Warr, President of Head Start Entertainment.

Repping the licensing for DA JAMMIES on behalf of Head Start Entertainment is Joy Tashjian Marketing Group (JTMG).

DA JAMMIES focuses on the quest of two adolescent groups ranging from age 6 to 13 who attend a Performing Arts School” vying to Make it to the Big Time by singing and rapping.

Produced by head Start Entertainment, the brand will launch first quarter 2006 with JAMMIE JAMS, a combined music CD/DVD release featuring 15 tracks that present DA JAMMIES stars performing kid-friendly versions of current popular rap songs from the likes of 50 Cent, Usher and Snoop Dog. On the other side of the music CD is a DVD of DA JAMMIES rap videos along with a How To Dance segment featuring the popular kids music-dance group MIX 5.

DA JAMMIES is the brainchild of Toon Farm music producer, composer and performer William Chapman II (Dolla) and Aulsondro Hamilton (Novelist) “ members of the Alternative Rock R&B Rap Duo KansasCali, who recently performed their music at the First Annual Billboard Digital Entertainment Awards to critical acclaim.

Each of the show’s main characters is based on a successful hip-hop or R&B artist “ and the list of music idols turned cartoon characters is straight out of Billboard’s record charts, including Mario, whose single Let Me Love You broke Usher’s record for the most spins on radio MTV’s LaLa and DJ Clue MC Lyte from UPN’s “Half & Half” Yo-Yo, Lil J from Disney’s That’s So Raven Ginuwine/Superb/Koch/Universal Records artist Kansascali Darius McCrary of NBC’s Committed Interscope Records’ Morgan Smith Hidden Beach Records’ Lina and Jordan Blake Warkol of Toy Story and The Lil Rascals.

As the two groups attend Performing Arts School, they sing and rap their way through all kinds of trials and tribulations. Not all of the kids possess the necessary talent “but they have the drive. The kids deal with real-life pressures “ but come to realize that success is only derived from hard work and dedication.
