SAID’s third edition of GURUMANTRA slated for 13th July 2012

After the success of Interactive meet up, The Society for Animation in Delhi (SAID) is all set to organize the third edition of their interactive session GURUMANTRA in Delhi on July 13, 2012 from 2:30 to 6pm at conference hall, Civil Service Officers’ Institute, Kasturba Gandhi Marg, New Delhi. The event is supported by Frameboxx, CG Mantra, IVS School of Design, Arena Animation and CG Leaks.com.

The GURUMANTRA is a series of interactive sessions where learners get an opportunity to interact with professionals and industry experts in the field of animation and related arts on specific topics.

Speaking to AnimationXpress.com, Madan Pania, President of the Society (SAID) said that, “GURUMANTRA 3 is for those animators who aspire to get into their own TV and Film productions with creative IPRs, details of both aspects, creativity as well as techniques. The speakers are professional experts from the industry with years of experience in the subject of discourse. Learners, teachers and professionals can all benefit by sharpening their professional skills to a higher notch, and also interact on dispelling their doubts about specific aspects of professional animation production. A total of 60 seats has been set-aside for participants. However, we expect about 85 to register and participate.”

GURUMANTRA 3 will focus on “Animation Production for TV n Films – creativity, techniques and technicalities” in two sessions. The first session is on “Creativity”, to be jointly addressed by Prof. Subodh Lal, Chairman, AKS Media, (former executive President, ZEE TV), and Tejendra Sharma, former Disney animator.  The second session will be on “Techniques and Technicalities” to be addressed by Sharad Mittal, CEO, Kathputlee Arts and Animation.
Besides, the Society is also introducing Moments of Mementoes (MOMs) to felicitate excellence in the field of animation and related arts. The first “Moment” goes to Divya Gupta, team-mate of the OSCAR winning Animation Film “HUGO”, and the second “Moment” goes to Varun Mehta of Varun Mehta productions for his international award winning short animation film “The Unknown World”. Besides, Mr. Biswajit Das, Vice-President, Frameboxx, has also kindly consented to grace the occasion.

The event is free for the members of SAID. Others who wish to participate will have to pay Rs. 200/-. All participants, including members, are required to register. Registration Centers have been opened at various places in and around Delhi – Frameboxx, South Extension and Rajouri Garden; IVS School of Design, Preet Vihar; Arena Animation, West Patel Nagar; CG Mantra, South Extension and NOIDA. On-line registration is also being set up at www.said.org.in.
