9X Media launches 9X Play – Game Apps for 9XM fans

9X Media, one of India’s largest Music Television Networks has introduced a series of gaming apps for 9XM fans on the digital platform. 9X Play offers a wide range of games with the 9XM animated characters including Bade, Chote, Silly Chicken, Bheegi Billi and Betel Nuts and India’s first talking applications ‘Talking Buddies’ and ‘Talking Silly’. Users can download and play these games on their iPhones, iPads and Android devices.

9X Play have 7 games running on the App Store, amongst the 7 games – 3 are featured by Apple on iTunes stores of various countries in top ten in kids category. The games include -Talking Buddies,Dress Up Bhabhi, 9XM Jigsaw , 9XM Spot the Difference, Talking Silly Chicken,Angry 9XM Heroes,9X Music Network Live and Crystal Blast.

These gaming apps come from a variety of gaming genres like Tower defence, jigsaw, match three, dress up, spot the difference game formats. All the games are designed to be scalable with new stories weaved around it.

Talking to AnimationXpress.com, Vibha Gosher, Vice President – Digital, 9X Media Group, said, “The gaming industry has seen a consistent growth in the last few years due to the advent of 3G and mobile gaming devices. The penetration of smart phones as portable entertainment devices has further catapulted the gaming industry manifold. The consumers are constantly looking out for newer forms of entertainment. The animated characters of our network are extremely popular amongst the younger audiences. The thrill of interacting with the animated characters gave us the motivation to create these apps and games that would take them out of the TV sets and put them into the hands of our consumers. We are extremely proud to launch India’s first talking applications, ‘Talking Buddies’ and ‘Talking Silly’, interactive talking apps with 9XM’s most popular characters – Bade and Chote and Silly Chicken. With 9X Play, we aim to engage our viewers by providing them complete entertainment on the digital platform.”

Gurudutt Sonsurkar AVP – Digital, 9X Media Group added,” 9XM characters are very popular with kids. We wanted to create an extension of the same in gaming format to create an interactive experience with consumers. The biggest challenge we faced was to
make the international users relate to each character, These animated shown on our channels have an Indian charm to it. The gaming apps are for the iOs platform which include a lot of international audience. We tried to make it easy and global for instance we have a level in our game ’Talking
Buddies’ in which people learn to pronounce the name of the character‘ Bade’. We wanted each character to go out of the TV realm and reach larger audience. We are not a Gaming studio, we just want to make gaming – an entertaining experience. Kids today are tech-savvy and these games are entertainment based, there is no serious gaming ,just pure fun. We have always provided quality entertainment to the people and we have done the same with this too”.

9X play’s future plan is to create a great interactive gaming experience with characters across 9X Media music channels. 9X play is also coming up with newer seasons of their own popular Jigsaw called as 9XM Jigsaw Travelogue – where Bade, Chote, Bheegi Billi, Silly Chicken will be seen globetrotting. Crystal Blast next season will be called ‘Temple
Quest’ where 9XM heroes are on a mission to retrieve ancient temple crystals. Also, 9X play are planning to take the gaming experience out of tablet and reach out to all segments of casual gaming by creating on ground events, free games online in flash format, Pc games etc.
