Red (the main protagonist of The Angry Birds movie) has a new role to tackle, and this one comes with parental duties. Paramount Pictures has dropped a new trailer and poster for The Angry Birds Movie 3, with K-pop star Jisoo adding a musical touch through her new song Sun Showers.
The film is set to open exclusively in theatres on 23 December, just in time for the festive season.
The trailer offers another look at the CG-animated sequel, with Red, Chuck, Bomb and Red’s children gearing up for another world-saving adventure. But this time, Red has fatherhood to contend with, making his latest mission a family affair.
Jisoo’s Sun Showers features in the trailer, with the track now available to pre-save.
John Rice, who co-directed The Angry Birds Movie 2, returns to direct the third film. Thurop Van Orman, who helmed the previous instalment, has written the screenplay.
Jason Sudeikis returns as Red, Josh Gad as Chuck, Danny McBride as Bomb and Rachel Bloom as Silver. The voice cast also includes Emma Myers as June, Walker Scobell as Glider, Tim Robinson as Porkchop, Psalm West as baby Olly and James Austin Johnson as Fuzzy, the family pet. Lily James and Keke Palmer also feature, alongside Marcello Hernández, Anna Cathcart, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Nikki Glaser, MrBeast, Salish Matter and Sam Richardson.
John Cohen, Dan Chuba, Carla Connor and Namit Malhotra produce the film, which is presented by Paramount Pictures in association with Rovio Entertainment, One Cool Group, Dentsu and Flywheel Media. It is a Prime Focus and John Cohen production.
With fatherhood on his plate and the world to save, Red is in for a bird-brained adventure this Christmas.
