‘The World’s Strongest Witch’ gets English dub, cast and crew revealed

A supposedly useless skill has found its voice in English. The World’s Strongest Witch has launched its English dub on Crunchyroll, with Lindsay Seidel leading the voice cast as Lorna, a young woman whose unusual ability to access the internet turns her fortunes around.

The first dubbed episode is available now, with fresh episodes scheduled every Wednesday at 6am Pacific Time.

Joining Seidel are Blake McNamara as Rowser, Randy Pearlman as Brau, Mikaela Krantz as Yggdrasil, Trey Upton as the Lord of the Woods and Maganda Marie as Lorna’s mother. Additional voices come from Conner Allison, Tom Aglio, Greg Dulcie, Jonathan Lim, Jordan Kendrick, Zach Zeidman, Dusty Feeney and Cheyenne Haynes.

Crunchyroll is handling the English dub. Justin Cook, Michael Harcourt and Nathanael Harrison are the studio producers, with Zach Bolton as producer. Macy Anne Johnson serves as adaptation supervisor, with Domonique French handling the adaptation and Stevie Rae Krieger the adaptation preparation. Manuel Angel Aragon directs the voice performances.

Tara A. Williams and Brittni Hurley handle talent coordination. Gino Palencia and Brandon Peters are the engineering managers, with Paola Guzman as engineer and James Baker as mixer.

Created by Mochimaru Sakaki, The World’s Strongest Witch began as a self-published web novel on Shosetsuka ni Naro, Japan’s largest user-generated web novel publishing platform in May 2022. Square Enix later published the light novels in Japan under its Sqex Novel imprint, with illustrations by riritto. Six volumes have been published to date, while a manga adaptation by Tamaki Toga has been running since May 2023.

The anime is directed by Joji Furuta (Shaman King) at studios Bridge and Aisle. Shoji Yonemura (Hotel Inhumans) oversees series composition, while Yuki Morimoto (Bad Girl) handles character designs.

The story follows Lorna, who is cast out by her aristocratic family after manifesting what appears to be a worthless ability. Left without money or food, she discovers that her SSS-rank skill, called internet, gives her access to a vast store of knowledge. She uses it to obtain rare equipment and valuable items, turning her supposed weakness into a formidable advantage.

There is one small catch: for all the knowledge at her fingertips, Lorna still has to work out what lmfao means.

Yen Press publishes the original light novels in English. With the English dub now under way, international viewers can follow Lorna’s rise in a new voice, as the witch who can search her way out of almost anything begins another chapter.
