What happens when one of India’s biggest cinematic universes steps beyond live-action and into animation? At Animation & More (AM) Summit 2026, the creators behind Baahubali: The Eternal War will take audiences behind the animated expansion of the Baahubali universe. Arka Mediaworks has joined the AM Summit 2026 as the industry partner.
Part of this year’s theme, “India to the World: Creating Global IPs for the Next Generation,” the session will explore how the team is reimagining a globally recognised Indian franchise through animation while retaining the scale, emotion and mythology that made Baahubali a cultural phenomenon.
Titled Baahubali’s New Animated Chapter – India, Anime & the World of Animation, the session will offer an inside look at the creative and production journey behind Baahubali: The Eternal War. From developing the visual language and adapting the world of Baahubali for animation to coordinating a global production pipeline, the conversation will examine what it takes to build an ambitious animated project around an established cinematic universe.
A key part of the session will be the project’s international collaboration, including a special traditional 2D animated sequence created by Japan’s renowned Studio Khara. The collaboration brings together Indian epic storytelling and Japanese anime craftsmanship, reflecting the increasingly global nature of animation production.
The conversation will feature Baahubali: The Eternal War writer-director Ishan Shukla, 88 Pictures founder & CEO Milind D. Shinde; and Arka Mediaworks CEO and co-founder Shobu Yarlagadda. The session will be moderated by AnimationXpress founder & editor-in-chief Anil NM Wanvari.
