Marvel India accidentally reveal ‘Blade’ release date in MCU phase 4 slate

Marvel India has announced the release slates of upcoming MCU phase four movies including Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Thor: Love and Thunder, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and more.

Marvel India also revealed that the upcoming Blade reboot is slated for 7 October 2022 release. This information hadn’t been previously announced. It was surprising to see Blade in the list as the movie hasn’t even begun filming yet.

As per reports, it is more likely that Marvel India has accidentally mentioned Blade instead of another movie on the same date.

Directed by Bassam Tariq starring Academy winner Mahershala Ali, the new Blade film will introduce the character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Blade was previously played in three films by Wesley Snipes, prior to the MCU era.

Bassam Tariq is the sixth person of colour to direct a movie for Marvel, following the previous directors including Ryan Coogler, Chloé Zhao, Destin Cretton, Taika Waititi and Nia DaCosta, as Marvel want to produce a diversified global contents.

These movies is all set to release in Indian theaters as theaters have reopened in many parts of the country. Mostly these movies will be available on Disney Plus Hotstar after their theatrical release window.
