National winner of KODE5 tourney heads for Global finals at Moscow 23 February 2008 05:25 PM

‘aTe’, a Mumbai-based gaming team has emerged victorious in the National Finals of KODE5, the international gaming tournament organised by Kreeda gaming company. The winning team shall head for Moscow to compete in the global finals of this prestigious gaming championship.
The team ‘aTe’ competed against 20 teams participating from across the country for two days from February 21-22, and finally emerged winner in this keenly contested Indian league of the championship.
“The online qualifiers for KODE5 India had been conducted a month prior to the event to identify eight teams with five members for the Counter-Strike game and eight players for Warcraft3 game. The grand finals would be played in Moscow in May,” said Quentin Staes-Polet, CEO of Kreeda Games.

Simultaneously, a national hunt for the “Hotstepper of the Nation” was also going underway in danceMELA, popular Bollywood song and dance online game in India. KODE5 was supposed to also host the danceMELA party of the year, where gamers not only gamed with each other, but caught up with each other and party.
A ‘Live Betting Booth’ was set up, where one could put their stakes on the likely winner. Maximum bets were placed for the two most popular teams Team aTe and Team D5. The winner of the betting event took home a gaming mouse pad.
Global sponsors of the competition Coolermaster, on the occasion, showcased their limited edition of Cosmos Sport computer chasis at the event on the day of its launch internationally.

Warcraft3 finals were played between Mumbai‘s top players Sagar “DarkBoi”, Vaishnav and Rohit from Chennai. Rohit put up a brave fight, but with more experience in tough competitions, Sagar came out trumps and was announced the first “Boyz in Blue” in Team India.
The Counter Strike competition was a roller coaster ride, with the number 1 seed ‘aTe’ losing out early to Team D5 and relegated to the loser‘s bracket of the double elimination competitions. However, aTe fought back hard and defeated team XCD from Pune and silenced its critics and rivals to take home CoolerMaster gaming chasis, the Logitech Gaming gear and education module worth Rs 10 lakh from Maya Academy of Advanced Cinematics.
“I have seen gaming events across the globe, but KODE5 India beats all other events in terms of participation and competition.
