Aayushi Animations developing Full Dome Animation Shows 22 December 2009 06:45 PM

Nashik based Aayushi Animations is currently developing three full dome 3D kids shows. The independently produced shows are to teach kids basic astronomy in a humourous and entertaining way. Scheduled for a February release the shows will be in two formats, one for planetariums and the other for schools to display. Aayushi Animations is currently talking to different schools to develop a time schedule for screening the shows.
Speaking to Animation Xpress.com Aayushi Animations CEO Shikhar Bhatnagar said "Our major animation platform is Digistar 3 which is a fully computerized digital planetary platform. To make our show scientifically perfect, we go through several steps. The show‘s subjects are selected from various science books and encyclopedias. After finishing up the story board, we discuss the show‘s matter with some well known scientists and astronomy professors for accuracy. Our major goal is always providing the best science content in light humour and easy to understand language. So that watching a full dome show becomes an entertainment trip for the audience."

Talking about the production procedure of these shows Shikhar shared, "First the theme is developed. Then its scientific aspects are discussed and data gathered. After putting up all the necessary science data, the humour aspect is worked out. Once the story board is ready, the freelance team develops the 3D scenes."
The company doesn‘t have its own rendering studio yet and currently uses online rendering facilities to render 3D scenes. After getting the scenes, they are processed through specialized Fisheye plug-in meant for Planetariums.

Living Dangerously With the close encounter of asteroid 2009DD45 in the month of March‘ 09, the risk of getting struck by an asteroid is rising. In this documentary, past events of asteroid impacts and the close encounters Earth has faced, sometimes resulting in the extinction of life are revisited. The impact of such a catastrophic event and the plans we have to save ourselves from the possible doomsday are discussed.
Map to the Chocolate Planet Two kids from another galaxy get the taste of chocolate. In search of some imaginary planet made up of chocolate, they travel the universe leading to our Milky Way. Searching each planet of the solar system to derive which one is made of chocolate, they learn lots of other interesting facts about our Solar System. Will they be able to find the real source of their quest?
Story of Aviation In an attempt to prepare his frightened kid for his first flight, a father bee tells him the story of courageous humans, who learnt to fly even without wings. Through this story, the audience flies through time from the beginning of the human craze to fly till today‘s successful space age era.
