Earthlink Pictures recently delivered 70 VFX shots for Aradhana Films latest venture “Yeh Jo Mohabat Hai” which released on the 3rd of August 2012.
The VFX of the film was done by Earthlink Pictures.‘Yeh Jo Mohabat Hai’ includes a large number of VFX shots comprised of rotoscoping, chroma compositing ,numerous cleanups, green screen removal, Digital Matte Paintings, a lot of CG and several PIP shots for mobile screen and laptop screen.
The entire VFX work on the film was completed within a short span of 2 months with a team of 10 artists operating across its facilities of Mumbai . Leading the VFX team was Saurabh Sameer, Creative and VFX Supervisor and Kuldeep Tandel, Senior Visualizer of Earthlink Pictures.
Yeh Jo Mohabbat Hai is a story of two young people who are caught between love for each other and the generations’ old enmity between their respective Rajput families.The film is directed by Shree Narayan Singh and produced by Aardhana Films, it stars Aditya Samanta and Nazia Hussain in lead roles.
Talking to AnimationXpress’ Ishpreet Chandock about the movie, Saurabh Sameer, Creative and VFX Supervisor of Earthlink Pictures said,” We were approached by the production house to work on ‘Yeh Jo Mohabat Hai in November last year.Our work started immediately thereafter as we had to supervise the VFX shoot and the preparatory work began.
The actual VFX work started in Feb 2012 and was over by April 2012.
“The VFX of the film comprised of alot of CG shots,green screen removal, The director told us that the CG sequences were an important part of the film, especially the CG Car sequence comes at a defining moment in the film and it had be nothing less than ‘spectacular’.One of the most challenging sequences in the film was the dream sequence in the film. The entire sequence was shot on green screen. The scope of work required creation of CG sets, CG glass / debris, multiple practical fx plates ,CG car which were then seamlessly put together in the final composite.”
Yeh Jo Mohabat is the first collaboration of Earthlink Pictures and Aaradhana Films. Talking about his experience working on the movie he said,”Yeh Jo Mohabat hai has been a very good movie to work on, the experience has been very good.The work was challenging as the VFX had to be aptly created to bring out the essence in one of the scenes, which was an important scene in the film. On the whole, Earthlink Pictures had an incredible time working on the project.”
