ZeptoLab partners with Gamesbond to bring ‘King of Thieves’ to Indian users

Mauj has announced a mobile gaming distribution partnership with UK based global gaming company ZeptoLab. With an aim to enhance the presence in the Indian gaming community, ZeptoLab will now host its portfolio of games on the newly launched premium gaming platform Gamesbond. Best known for developing the award-winning, hit franchise Cut the Rope, ZeptoLab, will launch its games ‘King of Thieves’ and ‘My Om Nom’ on Gamesbond.

Commenting on the announcement, Mauj Mobile, VP sales & operations, Rohit Sawhney says: “In India every smartphone user is a gamer. For these users, there are limited great marketplaces to discover and download premium games that they love and Gamesbond helps solve that problem. ZeptoLab shares our vision for making gaming a daily habit and our collaboration is a strong testimony of Mauj Mobile’s leadership in Indian gaming industry and an opportunity for us to bring world’s best games to our users.”

Mauj Mobile has been working with global game developers in getting their games discovered, downloaded and monetised in India. Mauj mobile with its platforms Mobango and Gamesbond aims to deliver over 100 million game downloads each year, majority of it through the Android platform. The aim is to double android game downloads in the next 12 months thereby contributing to increase in market share for Mauj Mobile.

ZeptoLab, director – sales & marketing, Elena Solovyeva adds: “ZeptoLab invests significantly in making deeply engaging mobile games and recognises India as a key market with over 130 million active mobile gamers. It is important for our games to reach the most number of gamers in India and platforms like Mobango which have played an active role in promoting games and with millions of monthly users are important partners for us.”

Recently, ZeptoLab has also chosen Nazara to publish ‘Cut The Rope’ after giving it a more local flavour. These certainly look like a positive time for the gaming industry in India, which is growing exponentially on the mobile front and is showing some promise on other available platforms as well.
