Zack Synder’s tweet reveals Jason Momoa as ‘Aquaman’

Director Zack Snyder has released the first look of Aquaman aka Jason Momoa via Twitter.

The Game of Thrones star looks menacing in the poster with the tattoos and the costume and will be seen as the character in next year’s Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Dawn of Justice, will hit theaters on 25 March, 2016. The film stars Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman and Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman. Jesse Eisenberg will reprise the role of Lex Luthor and Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth. Stars from Man of Steel Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane are reprising their respective roles.

 

Aquaman was a founding member of the Justice League in comics. Arthur, King of Atlantis, rules Earth’s oceans and has superstrength and can talk with sea life. Created by Paul Norris and Mort Weisinger, the character debuted in More Fun Comics #73 (November 1941).

After debuting in Batman v. Superman, Aquaman is expected to in Justice League Part One (17 November, 2017) before starring in his own solo adventure Aquaman (27 July, 2018) and regrouping with his superhero pals in Justice League Part Two (14 June, 2019).

Zack has been handed the reins of the Justice League films. But no director has been set for Aquaman movie, but Will Beall (Gangster Squad) and Kurt Johnstad (300: Rise of an Empire) are writing the script.
