The guest and artist list for Delhi Comic Con 2016 has been revealed

Comic Con is undoubtedly one of the biggest (or perhaps the biggest) event revolving around the pop culture. The Indian audience has also caught on to the essence of the event as the recently concluded Bengaluru Comic Con was well received. Now it’s time for the Delhi edition of the event and the full list of participating artists has been released. It will be held from 9 to 11 December at NSIC Ground Okhla.

Here’s a list of special guest/artists attending the event:

International Actor

Paul Blackthrone
Paul Blackthrone

British born actor Paul Blackthorne plays the role of Quentin Lance on the CW’s hit series Arrow. He has also acted in the movie Dumb and Dumber To, the long awaited sequel to Dumb and Dumber with original cast members, Jim Carey and Jeff Daniels. In 2000 He starred as the villainous Captain Russell in the Oscar nominated film Lagaan. Oscar campaign brought him to Los Angeles where he landed many roles in American television and film.

He is well known for his portrayal as the inimitable Harry Dresden in the SiFy series The Dresden Files.

International Comic Book Guests

Caricaturist, cartoonist and humorous illustrator Tom Richmond who began his career at age 18 as a caricaturist at a theme park in 1985 is now one of the most highly respected and successful freelance humorous illustrators. He does his award-winning art for a great variety of clients including Scholastic, National Geographic World, Marvel Comics, The Cartoon Network, Warner Bros Animation, and many more.

He is the author of the best-selling caricature instruction book The Mad Art of Caricature, which has become the standard in the industry. His many awards include being twice honoured as “Caricaturist of the Year” from the International Society of Caricature Artists, and the Reuben award for “Outstanding Cartoonist of the Year” from the National Cartoonists Society, arguably cartooning’s highest honour.

Joe Harris
Joe Harris

Visiting Comic Con India once again is Joe Harris. He is the creator and writer of myriad comics and graphic novels such as the hit Image Comics environmental sci-fi series, Great Pacific, and the fan-favourite, monthly paranormal investigations of Agents Mulder and Scully in The X-Files: Season 11 for IDW. As a young creator at Marvel Comics, Harris launched the cult-classic Spider-Man spinoff, Slingers and the Bishop: The Last X-Man series. He has written for just about all major comics publishers and characters including DC Comics, Dark Horse and others. Joe Harris conceived, and co-wrote the screenplay for, the hit Sony Pictures horror film, Darkness Falls after his short film, Tooth Fairy was acquired by Revolution Studios and developed into a feature.

Next up is Nicolas Wild who is a former student of the renowned illustration workshops at the Ecole Superieure des Arts Decoratifs in Strasbourg. Residing in France, he is the author of several graphic novels, including Le Voeu de Marc and Le Bourreau. Nicolas Wild is a wandering French writer and illustrator. He is the author of the critically acclaimed Kabul Disco: How I Wasn’t Kidnapped in Afghanistan.

Erik Larsen is an American cartoonist who is known for his work on Savage Dragon, as one of the founders of Image Comics, and for his work on Spider-Man for Marvel Comics. He’s done stints on Spawn, the Defenders, Fantastic Four: the World’s Greatest Comics Magazine, the Punisher, Thor, the Doom Patrol, Aquaman, Nova and Wolverine. He served as the publisher of Image Comics for a few years as well.

International Special Guest: DJ Elliot

DJ ElliotRaised in the live music capital of the world, Austin, Texas, DJ Elliot is The Official Walt Disney World DJ will be coming to entertain the audience at Alto Delhi Comic Con 2016.

As always, the cosplay competition is also slated to be held and each day, one lucky winner out of the chosen five will get a chance to win Rs 50,000 (cash prize) and to enter in ‘Indian Championships of Cosplay’. The Winner of ‘Indian Championships of Cosplay’ will compete and represent the country at the Annual Crown Championships of Cosplay at Chicago Comics & Entertainment Expo.  Also, five Cosplayers will get a voucher of Rs 2500 (each) for their Spirit of Cosplay.
