Tempest Ventures’ investments in Media Flavours gives birth to Gateway aniMedia Works

Tempest Ventures – an EU based venture fund – has invested in Media Flavours, which is a decade old Animation Studio based in Pune, India. Media Flavours is the one of the few animation studios from India to have produced over nine Animation feature films for main stream media and has developed over 3,500 minutes of animation content so far. The team at Media Flavours is a group of brilliant and passionate animators and highly committed to delivering quality work, while meeting deadlines.

Tempest Ventures actively participated in creating the joint venture between Media Flavours and its flagship investee company Gateway TechnoLabs to create Gateway aniMedia Works LLP.

“With this JV Media Flavours now gets access to a global reach of Gateway TechnoLabs in over 17 countries and will also be able to bring technical strengths of Gateway TechnoLabs to deliver mainstream animation, mobile content, content delivery platform and e-learning technologies to its customers,” expounds Gateway aniMedia Works CEO Rahul Gadiya.

Gateway TechnoLabs – develops, designs and manages large scale enterprise applications, provides product engineering services and software outsourcing services to its customers in more than 30 countries through its team of 1,400+ engineers. Gateway TechnoLabs specialises in servings its customers in Automotive Sector, Print Media and Publishing Sector, Healthcare Services, Gaming, BFSI and Retail verticals.

Rahul will be responsible for ideation, conceptualising, visualising concepts and creative direction for all the key projects. Apart from being the founder & chief architect of Media Flavours and Fountain Pixel Animations, he will also be heading a team of more than 75 individuals at Gateway aniMedia Works and will be focusing on developing IPs as well as offering services for 2D animation, e-learning and motion comics for its client base.

Rahul exults: “These companies were floated with the aim of developing quality animation content and offering animation services to global as well as local clients. The animation industry in India is certainly growing with more networks coming up with dedicated kids’ channels. The challenge for the studios now is to manage their pipelines effectively and keep the cost in control while delivering world class quality; and that is precisely what we would be gunning to achieve.”

Gateway aniMedia Works will also be heading to Mipcom this year to explore strategic partnerships in various geographies, to offer its services.
