‘Shaandaar’ and ‘Dilwale’ in the race for the Worst film at Golden Kela Awards 2016

Films like Shaandaar and Dilwale have created a buzz in the industry due to the use of animation and VFX to enhance the overall feel of the film, but now both are competing in the race for the ‘Worst Film’ at the 8th Annual Golden Kela Awards 2016. And, they have a tough competition from Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, Bombay Velvet and Singh is Bliing that are part of the race too.

Though Shaandaar didn’t entertain audience through its live action sequence, the 9 minute animated sequence in the film created by Philm CGI studio received an encouraging response. The CGI creation of Alia Bhatt and Pankaj Kapur in the animated form grabbed the attention of the viewers as it added an innovation to the storytelling pattern of the film. However, the film didn’t perform well at the box office and couldn’t raise an appeal among the audience, and thus has landed among the nominees for the Worst Film category.

Dilwale gerua

On the other hand, the Rohit Shetty mastermind Dilwale displayed tremendous use of visual effects produced by NY VFXWAALA and redchillies.vfx. However, it didn’t materialise as the film couldn’t enthrall the audience on the overall aspect thought it performed well at the box office due to the fan following for SRK and Dilwale franchise.

Also, Gerua, the romantic song from Dilwale, which again has heavy use of VFX is nominated for the ‘Most Annoying Song’ alongside other competitors like Chittiyan Kalaiyan, Selfie Le Le Re, Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo and Chaar Shanivaar.
