E-commerce giant Flipkart has recently announced the appointment of Sanjay Baweja as its new Chief Financial Officier (CFO).
Baweja was previously working in Tata Communications as its Global CFO. In his new role he will be responsible for Flipkart’s revenue growth and increase profitability; along with handling acquisitions made by the company recently.
“Sanjay brings with him a rich experience of running financial set-ups across large and diverse organisations. His impressive background of successfully structuring the financial strategy of market leaders is going to be invaluable as we enter a pivotal point in our growth story,” said Sachin Bansal, co-founder and CEO, Flipkart.

Baweja will replace the interim CFO, Kalyan Krishnamurthy, who had been sent by Tiger Global, one of largest investor to look after things post the resignation of Karandeep Singh from the position last February.
Baweja has previous experience of thirty years of working in big firms like Bharti Airtel, Xerox Modicorp and Emaar MGF and has expertise in the areas of budget control and corporate finance, acquisitions, financial analysis, tax planning and risk management and strategic business planning.
