Rolocule Games’ ‘Bowling Central’ to strike on Android soon

Rolocule is back with its unique technology, Rolomotion and has bettered it this time with its new game Bowling Central. It is a usual bowling game mixed with puzzles and obstacles. Each stage presents a unique bowling challenge and the player needs to strategise and time his/her spin to overcome the obstacles and be on the way to a perfect strike.

Speaking to AnimationXpress.com, Rolocule Games founder Anuj Tandon reveals: “Puzzle element is what adds fun to the game and there are unique challenges to overcome and reach a target score.” There are various obstacles to get the player thinking, as to how one can achieve his/her goal. The puzzles in the game add a different element to the game of bowling.

“Rolomotion control is optional, so if you have Apple TV you can play with an iPhone on your TV. If you don’t have Apple TV you can still play the game albeit on your mobile phone with the swipe control mechanics which is present in the game. You can swipe the ball and give it directions and turns before releasing the ball. It works like any other iDevice game or iPhone game but it’s just that with Rolomotion you can play on your TV as well,” explains Anuj. “With Motion Tennis and Dance Party we learnt that people would want to play such games on their mobile device as well.” Bowling Central has both the motion controls with Apple Airplay and flick controls.

The game has received a positive response from gamers across the world and was developed with a team of four programmers and five people for art. Anuj reveals: “The game overall has been positive with the game reaching top ten in a lot of countries. It reached number one spot in India, Netherlands and lot more countries and top 100 in US, UK and Australia. The fact that it is doing well comes from the fact that the game has been pirated by 60 per cent of the users who’ve downloaded the game on iOS.”

“Majority focus is to make it international. Bowling is a very universal concept and people having iPhone in India will relate to what Bowling Central is. The idea is to make global games and not target any particular region or country but games that have global appeal,” adds he.

The studio is planning to add new levels every month along with the endless requests the studio receives from the gamers about the features; a multiplayer gameplay is also on its way in the coming updates. Anuj adds: “We are adding multiplayer in the next update of the game, also right now through Facebook you can see your friends score, and on what level he/she is currently on. So there is a multiplayer angle to it but we will be adding local multiplayer with the next update. We have constant request to add music and sound effects and replays, so we are incorporating certain requests and the update for the same should go live by Friday and the next update will have multiplayer and more levels.”

Speaking about company plans, porting the game for Android users and also about the new game Dead Among Us, Anuj ends: “This is probably our last premium game. Our future games will be free-to-play since the market for premium games is dying. For the Android game, we’ve got exclusivity with Apple for atleast one and a half months and post that we’ll start working on the android version. So the game for android will be out in three months.”

The next from the Pune based gaming studio is Dead Among Us, a good old zombie killing game optimised for one-hand controls and elements of storytelling.
