Pixar president reveals ‘Finding Dory’ plot details

Pixar President, Jim Morris revealed several details about the studio’s upcoming movie Finding Dory. The details came to light at the Comic Con Experience in Brazil where the studio head showed arts and unfinished scenes and presented new software that Pixar developed to create crowds (schools of fish).

The ‘Finding Nemo’ sequel will have Dory, a regal blue tang fish, as the central character who has a severe short term memory loss. The film shows Dory who embarks on a journey to find her parents with the help of Marlin and Nemo, the father-son duo who Dory previously helped. The film is scheduled to hit theatres on 17 June 2016.

The main location in the film will be the Marine Biology Institute of California, a research facility where Dory was apparently born before being released into the wild. We will see new characters, like an octopus, sea lions, a beluga whale and others.

Dory is being voiced by Ellen DeGeneres, who also took to the mike in the prequel. The film will also feature at least two characters from the previous film, since Gill and Deb are confirmed to return. Dory’s father Charlie will be voiced by Eugene Levy and Dory’s mother Jenny will be voiced by actress Diane Keaton. Albert Brooks will return to voice Marlin but Alexander Gould may not voice Nemo, since he is now an adult.

Another character that could be reappearing in the new film is Bruce the shark, who tried to eat Dory and Marlin on their journey to get Nemo. If the characters are traveling from Australia to California, it’s possible they will swim into Crash the sea turtle at some point. Seagulls are also another good choice that may return back to the sequel from the original film.

Pixar President Jim Morris offered new details recently about the new project, revealing that the sequel will be set only six months after the events of the first film. Dory will be living among the clown fish with Marlin and Nemo.
