‘Oggy and the Cockroaches’ find a new home on Cartoon Network

In an Asia Pacific deal announced earlier this year, Cartoon Network acquired the mega-hit, animated comedy series – ‘Oggy and the Cockroaches’. The show, slated to premiere on July 16, 2012, will air every Monday-Friday at 3pm only on Cartoon Network India.

The series revolves around Oggy, a big, sleek cat who likes watching TV, listening to music and munching on fries in the bath. In short: A cat whose ambitions don’t go beyond living an easy life, in an easy house. However, his smooth existence is made disdainful by three cockroaches that never stop troubling Oggy now and then. They do their utmost to make Oggy’s life a mess. But true to cartoon tradition, there’s always a happy end at the horizon. Despite his agonies, Oggy always comes out victorious… well, nearly always!

Adding to the on-air excitement, Cartoon Network will be launching a contest based on Oggy and the Cockroaches called ‘Oggy di New House Party!’ Some exciting Oggy and the Cockroaches merchandise are up for grabs with the bumper prize being gift vouchers worth Rs. 50,000/- for a fabulous home makeover. All kids have to do is tune-in to the show from July 23 – August 31, every Monday to Friday and send their answers by SMS: CN (space) (A or B) to 58888.

Commenting on this development, Monica Tata, General Manager, Entertainment Networks, South Asia, Turner International India, said, “Oggy and the Cockroaches has a winning comedy formula that has made it hugely popular with kids in India. We are thrilled about this latest acquisition, which ensures that Oggy and the Cockroaches becomes part of a formidable comedy lineup on Cartoon Network this year.”

The fun doesn’t stop there! In addition to catching the craziness on-air, kids can log on to www.cartoonnetworkindia.com and play exciting Oggy and the Cockroaches games.
Get ready for side-splitting and over-the-top hilarity with Oggy and the Cockroaches starting July 16, 2012, every Monday to Friday at 3pm on Cartoon Network.
