Netflix enters ANZ with Disney shows & films

Video on demand service Neflix has announced that it will be launching on 31 March in Australia and New Zealand along with a lineup of several Disney shows. Popular movies and TV shows from Disney such as Frozen, Mickey Mouse, Cars, Monsters Inc, and UP will be available at $ 9.99 per month. Both animation and live-action films from The Walt Disney Company will be available to users on a subscription basis.

Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World and Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Saving Mr. Banks and Muppets Most Wanted will also be available. Later on, it will also make available Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, Maleficent and Big Hero 6.

“As part of our long-standing global relationship with Disney, we’re thrilled to bring fan favourites like Tangled and Star Wars: The Clone Wars to Netflix members in Australia and New Zealand,” said Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos.

“Disney is excited to join with Netflix to provide consumers in Australia and New Zealand with even more options when it comes to how and when they enjoy our fantastic entertainment content,” said The Walt Disney Company Australia and New Zealand MD Catherine Powell. “In today’s world, subscription over-the-top services play a critical role in media consumption, and we’re delighted to bring our top-quality films and television series to these fans.”
