My Mumbai Short Film Festival 2013 Calls for Entries

Converted a creative idea into a film and want a platform to showcase it? If yes, then here’s presenting to you the 2nd edition of ‘My Mumbai Short Film Festival’ organized by ‘Universal Marathi. Formed by a group of 5 friends, Ajit Jadhav, R.R Dalvi, Amitraj Nirmal, Paresh Bhargav and Tushar.T.Mhaske, Universal Marathi is an organization that gives opportunities for short film makers.

Slated for 3rd October 2013 at Ravindra Natya Mandirl in Mumbai, this festival comprises of various short film categories which include Social Awareness, Mobile Shoot Film, AD Film, International films and VFX/Animation film. The official sponsors for this film festival are Three Square Productions Pvt. Ltd, Manthan, and Arrow Multimedia. Like last year, the Directorate of Maharashtra Government is in full support for this film festival.

Talking to AnimationXpress.com, Ajit Jadhav, Team Member of Universal Marathi says “The Unique feature of this festival is that even though the individual is not a Professional but is able to create innovative films in any of the above mentioned categories, their respective entries are welcomed.”

My Mumbai Film Festival 2013 has also promoted themselves through Social Media Networking sites like Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. Amitraj Nirmal, Team Member of Universal Marathi adds, “We have received around 60 film entries through Face book alone and expect more responses from other social media networking sites as well.”

Winners will be awarded certificates. Tushar. T. Mhaske, Team Member of Universal Marathi says, “The films of the five different categories will be judged on the basis of how well a particular concept is brought up creatively through the short films.”

Guests of Honor who will inaugurate this auspicious event are Shivaji Lotan Patil- National Award winner for Film ‘Dhag’, Ashutosh Ghorpade –Directorate of Cultural Affairs of Maharashtra Government. Well-known Celebrities of Marathi Film Industries Vilas Ujawane,  Anjali Ujawane, Uday Sabnis, Manoj Kolhatkar, Purva Pawar, Devi film’s Director – Producer Datta Jamkhande and Animation  Directors are also expected to grace the festival.

The registrations for this festival are free of cost and the deadline for Short Film submissions is 22nd September 2013.
