It’s a mammoth task for an organisation like Reliance that has over one lac employees across India to make their them aware of all the company policies. To solve this problem Mukesh Ambani owned Reliance Industries (RIL) has come up with an indigenous idea. They have come up with two virtual employees: ‘Shubh’ and ‘Labh’ to reach out to their employees and make them aware of the benefits that the organisation offers apart from monetary compensation.
Such an initiative has been launched for the first time after Ambani’s cousin Hital Meswani took over as the HR head and will go on for a year.
Employees might be aware of the usual salary, annual cash bonus, medical and accident insurance but besides these monetary benefits, the employees are entitled for other benefits as well. These include health check-ups for employee and spouse, an emergency hotline that they can depend on anytime-anywhere, domestic and international education assistance, maternity, paternity and adoption leave; and post-retirement medical insurance; Shubh and Labh would be helping them become more aware of these benefits as well.
Shubh and Labh basically mean goodness and benefit, which serves the purpose of their idea.
