Minecraft to roll out a large free update for consoles, Chinese Mythology Mash-Up Pack to release early October

Minecon 2016 recently concluded and we were expecting some announcements from the developers “Mojang” regarding future plans and we weren’t disappointed. The company announced that the console editions of the game would be getting a rather large update for free and a classic Chinese Mythology Mash-Up Pack will also be brought in.

Priced at $4.99 and slated for a 4 October release, the Chinese Mythology Mash-Up Pack will be adding 41 skins to the kitty and a brand new pre-made world, crafted specially according to the lore of the ancient empire.

Here’s the description of the new realm as on the official post: ‘Wander through the streets of an ancient great city, marvel at the dragons that dwell around the high mountains, contemplate on your crafting within a mythical monastery and just enjoy the view as you walk through fields and discover how mobs would look in ancient China….’ ‘On top of all that, the Chinese Mythology Mash-Up also includes a very special map for the Battle mini game which we released back in June. Just look out for the dragons!’

Mojang’s immensely popular sandbox game, Minecraft recently ventured into China for the first time when the developers bestowed licensing rights upon the Chinese company NetEase.

The free update patch includes:

New mobs: You’ll now find polar Bears (and their babies!) roaming frozen biomes.

New items: Farm beetroots and keep yourself nourished with some healthy beetroot soup.

Banners: Make beautiful banners to hang in your bases and spruce the place up.

New terrain generation: You’ll find Igloos in Arctic biomes; Fossils buried underground, as well as different village paths and materials.

New blocks: End Bricks, Beetroot, Grass Path, Frosted Ice, Magma, Nether Wart Block, Red Nether Brick and Bone Block.
