Microsoft developing Xbox One fitness wearable for 2015

Microsoft is said to be working on a fitness wearable that would work alongside its Xbox One games console.

The fitness tracker is designed to sync with an Xbox One and could potentially work with existing fitness apps on the console. That is interesting because while the Kinect motion tracker is claimed to be sensitive enough to monitor a user’s heart rate, the new wearable can push readings to be even more accurate.

Joe Officer, the lead Xbox One component supplier at Exertis, has told PCR, (a UK based tech website) that “these will be linked to the Xbox One which has loads of health and fitness apps already in it. Add that to real time heart rate monitors, health bands, scales and video sensors and users will have day in, day out, real time monitoring of themselves.”

Adding new features to the Xbox One is not a bad thing at all.

The band will keep Microsoft from the competition in the console wars and wearables will the deciding factor for potential customers living in an increasingly digitized world. The new sync feature can be a revolutionary tool for gamers in order to keep track of their vital readings and also take their Xbox Fitness regimen with them.
