Metallica can now be seen in a Comic book

It’s not often that we get to see comic book based on a metal band but this band is no regular one. The iconic heavy metal band Metallica now has a comic book biography created by Bluewater Productions, titled ‘Orbit: Metallica’.

Though there isn’t any news of a new album following 2008’s Death Magnetic, Metallica fans can cheer up a little by reading this 28 page chronology of the band’s career. The comic is published by StormFront Media and illustrates the story of how one of the most influential rock bands in modern history was formed. The comic is currently on sale for $3.99. The book is written by Michael L Frizell, who also wrote biographical comics for Madonna, Barack Obama, Miley Cyrus among others.

“I had written biographical comics about Miley Cyrus and Prince, and even crafted audio books about Justin Bieber, Demi Lovato, Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, Michael Jackson, and Big Time Rush. But never a group with such a rabid fan base as Metallica,” Frizell said.

The interior art comes from artist Jayfri Hashim, who as a Metallica fan, also helped research the book. “Metallica’s formation marks the beginning of metal, breeding thrash metal which progresses to heavy metal during the glam rock era. Many people get it wrong when they say Metallica is a rock band. They’re not. They are the very definition of a metal band. They were daring, innovative, and the story of their beginning fascinates me.”
