Marvel’s ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ releases new trailer

Marvel Studios certainly knows how to set the pace for big summer releases. This time around it’s unleashing the sequel to the Tentpole film – The Avengers – that went onto become one of the highest grosser for the year 2012. The new trailer hit the online streaming platform YouTube today and has already garnered over two million views.

The sequel Avengers: Age of Ultron is an upcoming American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics superhero team the Avengers, produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. The film is scripted and directed by Joss Whedon and features an ensemble cast that includes Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Cobie Smulders, Stellan Skarsgĺrd, James Spader, and Samuel L. Jackson. In Avengers: Age of Ultron, the Avengers must work together to defeat Ultron, a technological enemy bent on human extinction.

The sequel was announced in May 2012, after the successful release of The Avengers. Whedon, the director of the first film, was brought back on board in August and a release date was set. By April 2013, Whedon had completed a draft of the script, and casting began in June with the re-signing of Downey. Second unit filming began in February 2014 in South Africa with principal photography taking place between March and August 2014. The film was primarily shot at Shepperton Studios in Surrey, with additional footage filmed in Italy, South Korea, Bangladesh, New York, and various locations around England.

The visual effects for this epic feature film are delivered by Industrial Light & Magic. The company has been in existence for nearly four decades and has earlier worked on classics like Star Wars, Star Trek, E.T., Indiana Jones – Temple of Doom and this year has its hands full with Jurassic World, Terminator Genisys, Ant-Man and Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens.

Avengers: Age of Ultron is scheduled for release on 1 May, 2015 in North America, in 3D and IMAX 3D. Two sequels, Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 and Avengers: Infinity War Part 2, are scheduled to be released on 4 May, 2018 and 8 May, 2019, respectively.
