MAAC’s Students of Bangalore to bring forth a documentary film on Bangalore’s Traffic Cops

Shajan Samuel, Sr. Vice-President of MAAC, Bangalore and Asst Vice President Aptech ltd portrayed an idea of making a documentary film on “The Bangalore Traffic Cops” last month. Few days later, he placed his views about filming a fifteen minutes’ documentary dedicated to “The Bangalore Traffic Cops” before MAAC team in Bangalore. Shajan’s idea found consensus amongst the team. As a part of the documentary, Wanita Ashok was then approached to initiate a Fitness Programme for these cops.

Followed by the idea, Shajan and the team approached Bangalore Additional Commissioner for Traffic – Shri B Dayananad for permission to make this film. He was much impressed by Samuel’s social thought and waved the green flag. Shajan Samuel conducted an audition consisting of a Personal Interview and the student’s interest in VFX and CG to pick 15 students for this project. The interview was conducted by Anto Ramesh Paul Zonal Technical Head (MAAC) and Director for this Documentary movie.

Registration of this audition saw 200 entries out of which only 15 students were picked. Considering the participation of students, MAAC will appreciate students with a certificate post the completion of the movie.

When AnimationXpress.com asked Shajan, why not an animated film? Shajan said, “I want this film to be real and influential. People here don’t follow traffic rules; it’s then the traffic cops have to suffer. Work pressure, not enjoying public holidays, a strenuous job is much they face throughout while executing their daily tasks.” Shooting will commence from 1st of April and is slated to end by 30thof April. Post production happens in first two weeks of May, the film is assumed to be released post 15th of May. Apart from 15 selected students, crew would consist of 5 more people. Shajan Samuel will be playing a Mentor for this documentary and expresses whole lot of expectations from the same.
