MAAC launches international program in visual arts & design (IPVAD)

Maya Academy of Advanced Cinematics (MAAC) has launched an international program in visual arts & design (IPVAD) in the IT hub (Bengaluru). Bangalore IPVAD will be offered at MAAC Malleshwaram, MAAC Jayanagar & MAAC Koramangala.

The course was launched by Biren Ghose, president-ABAI,a non-profit association originally started by and for developing Karnataka’s AVGC industry.

With the correct blend of creative development modules and exposure to industry leading software for digital content creation, this three year comprehensive program aims at placing their top performers on international platforms.

Commenting on the increasingly important role played by Indian studios in the production of animation/VFX content, Biren Ghose said: “There has been an incredible increase in the number and quality of projects undertaken by local production studios. While the VFX, animation and gaming business is about Rs 80 billion (KPMG-FICCI report 2015), it only occupies 8 per cent of the global industry. The need of the hour is for associations like ABAI to work hand in hand with institutes like MAAC to develop programs and curriculums that significantly raise the ‘standards’ of local talent to accommodate for the rising levels of expectations from global studios. My best wishes and congratulations to the MAAC team for developing this program. I hope this will contribute the process of growing talent towards undertaking global standard projects.”

MAAC senior VP Shajan Samuel added: “The learning objective of each semester in this course is assessed by an industry standard evaluation methodology to ensure that students have a complete understanding of concepts and technologies used in the production workflow of digital content creation process.”

Aspirants will be thoroughly trained in computer graphics and creative skills required to excel in the field of animation, VFX and digital design.
