Lenovo and Razer partner to deliver gaming PCs

lenovo-razer-editionPC Sales are on a bit of a slowdown and with gaming happening smartphones and tablets along with the consoles, the PCs have taken the hit. With the changing market, two players on the PC peripherals, computer manufacturer Lenovo and company known for its gaming products have come together to forge a partnership to make gaming centric PCs.

The first of product from the partnership will be the Razer Edition of the Lenovo Y Series gaming desktop. Not much has been revealed about the product, but the image of the Y series tower case has Razer’s iconic green glow, along with its customisable ‘Chroma’ lighting at the base.

The first prototype of the gaming desktop was showcased by Lenovo  at DreamHack Winter 2015 and featured a pair of Nvidia GeForce GTX graphics cards in an SLI configuration, and Razer Chroma case lighting, and green USB ports.

The deal between the two will not only be beneficial for the PC gamers in the sense the cross interaction of the technologies between them but also Razer will get into the mainstream market and into a lot of homes through this deal. One company which is doing very well under the gaming PCs and laptop segment is Alienware. Bought by Dell in 2006, the company sells premium gaming PCs and laptops under this name.

In a press statement, Lenovo said that Razer would enhance the immersive experience for gamers. Razer has a number of proprietary software products designed around in-game chat, gaming audio, a cloud service for game settings and a VR headset Razer OSVR, all of which may prove to be of high interest to Lenovo.
