Lego announces new slate for 2015 videogames

Lego video games are back and boast of big names in the line-up for the year. Jurassic World and Marvel’s The Avengers bring the popular brick based video-game to two new movie franchises, mirroring Lego’s physical franchised toys.

A long standing favourite with family gamers, LEGO’s success continues to grow. Having released a video-game version of The Lego Movie, as well as Lego Batman 3 and Lego Hobbit last year, Warner has just announced the first two Lego game titles for 2015: Lego Marvel’s The Avengers and Lego Jurassic World.

“This year will be the biggest yet for Lego videogames with these incredible titles and several firsts for the series,” said TT Games MD Tom Stone.

Lego Jurassic World will be out in June and was teased in the credits after Lego Batman 3. The game will follow the story from each of the four Jurassic Park movies, including the Chris Pratt film coming this year.

The other game announced, was Lego Marvel’s The Avengers. The game will be available in fall 2015 and will follow 2012?s first Avengers movie as well as this year’s Avengers: Age of Ultron.

More games from the Lego stable include Lego Ninjago: Shadow of Ronin, The Lego Movie Videogame and Lego Batman: Beyond Gotham.

The latest Lego handheld game delivers an untold story of the Lego Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu TV show. Using their Spinjitzu abilities, players can unleash their Ninja’s elemental power to smash their way through enemies and solve puzzles.

The Lego Movie Videogame is a delightful mix of over 90 characters from the feature film, including Emmet an average, rule-following citizen, who is mistakenly identified as the key to saving the world, Batman, Superman and the Green Ninja, The Lego Movie Videogame leads gamers on a journey through fantastical worlds in 45 levels.

Lego Batman: Beyond Gotham has the Caped Crusader joining forces with the superheroes of the DC Comics universe and blasts off to outer space to stop the evil Brainiac from destroying Earth.

The games will be available across platforms ranging from PS4, PS3, PSVita, XboxOne, Xbox360, Wii U, Nintendo 3DS and PC with the last two games only available on mobile devices.
