Jurassic World’s newly released trailer gives a glimpse of what’s in store

With back to back releases of sneak-peaks from Star Wars – The Force Awakens, Batman v Superman – Dawn of Justice, Fantastic Four , Universal Studios’ latest upcoming Dino-Action flick, Jurassic World has released its latest and longest teaser a couple of days ago.

Steven Spielberg fans may be disappointed as he hasn’t donned the director’s chair for the fourth installment in the Jurassic Park franchise after directing two successful blockbusters Jurassic Park(1993) and The Lost World – Jurassic Park (1997). However the latest trailer of Jurassic World starring Guardians of the Galaxy star, Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard (The Village) and Vincent D’Onofrio (King Pin in the new Netflix Daredevil series) gives us some ‘Gigantosaurus’ treat that makes the Great White Shark that scared our wits out in the Jaws look like puny creature swimming for its life.

Helmed by Colin Trevorrow, Jurassic World is set twenty-two years post the events of Jurassic Park (1993) where John Hammond’s vision for the dino-theme park goes a bit skewed and had bloodthirsty T-Rexes and Raptors going wild. What was disastrous then seems like a well-functioning theme park now as ‘Jurassic World’ under Isla Nublar’s leadership but only until a new hybrid program makes the creation smarter than the creator and turns into Hollywood’s scariest predator (Does anyone recollect the Deep Blue Sea?).  Sadly the plot has been tried and tested before with sharks, spiders and all other sorts of creatures, Jurassic World could be just using the same formula with a Dinosaur that is claimed to be bigger than the T-Rex. Facts – A T-Rex stood 20 feet tall and 40 feet long and now we have Hollywood’s VFX taking the genetically modified dinosaurs to a superior magnitude. There are four VFX houses working on this project, namely: Industrial Light & Magic, Image Engine, Hybrid and Tippett Studio.

The second three minute clip of Jurassic World confirms Chris Pratt bringing in some of his mischievous demeanor picked up from Guardians of the Galaxy as a dino-trainer alongside the stern-faced scientist responsible for the entire plot, Bryce Howard. But these aren’t the stars of the tent-pole, for it is the dinosaurs that have the Jurassic World attract over 20,000 folks to the island.  We see some wide shot stills of the dino-themed attractions loaded with VFX, courtesy Tippett Studios and Industrial Light and Magic.

We finally also see what the beastly-bloodthirsty Dinosaur would be as it goes on a killing spree, torturing kids in moving glass balls, and sucking Commandoes and also not leaving the cute-faced herbivore dinosaurs.  Great visuals that flaunt yet again Hollywood’s prowess in bringing life into the non-existent and promise a great theatre popcorn munching experience in theatres as Jurassic World releases world-wide on 12 June 2015.
