Iron Code Gaming Releases Pahelika: Revelations Today on Mac App Store

Noida based Iron Code Gaming has now released its adventurous casual 3D game, Pahelika: Revelations on Mac App Store. The game made its debut in 2011 for PC Gamers, and managed to make a place in the gaming industry after launching worldwide on online portals like Big Fish Games, Gamehouse, IWin, Oberon Media, Amazon and Yahoo.

The gameplay of Pahelika: Revelations is based on exploration, puzzle solving, and revolves around protagonist Sudesh Budkoti, who while exploring the world of Pahelika: Revelations, often meets with obstacles or puzzles. To get past the obstacles, he will have to piece together clues from the environment. The clues may come from observation, logic, or by simply talking to other individuals.

In the MAC version of this game, Iron Code has added a new hint button, by which the player may press the button any time to get a hint, and the game also allows the player to skip the mini games.

Speaking to AnimationXpress.com about the interesting elements of Pahelika: Revelations, Pallav, CEO of Iron Code Gaming, says, “Pahelika: Revelations plonks you in its fantasy universe and leaves you to your own devices. You can take the easy way out by using the hint button, or you can put your thinking cap on and tough it out – entirely up to you.”

This single player game is designed to bring forward an immersive and artistic experience with huge ancient places seen in the overall game. Ray tracing is used to set the look and feel of the game.

Adds more, “Ray tracing is very different from how a video card renders a scene. A ray traced scene feels very different from a normal video game, and yet feels very realistic and believable.”

Team members who dedicated their time to create the game are Pallav himself who took care of the Game Designing and Programming, Gaurav Nawani, Art Lead and Concept Artist, Dilip Dewani shared the programming duties for porting the game on MAC. Rohit Bhosle, worked as a programmer on the original PC version and Nikhilesh Rawat animated the game.

“We wanted this game to be full-fledged adventure that felt more like an adventure and not a collection of puzzles, which our previous game Pahelika: Secret Legends was. A better art and story that was cohesive and not limited to game end cut scenes were the prime points that we took into consideration for creating the game.”

For programming the game, Iron Code made use of their proprietary game engine, created using the C++ language, which runs natively under all the platforms. On Windows, DirectX9 or OpenGL can be used as the graphics API, and on the mobile platforms the engine uses OpenGL ES.

“Since Pahelika: Revelations was a huge game, we had to develop tools for it such as Game Editor, Particle Editor. Also, we made use of Lua for scripting and Ogg – Theora as the video codec.” concludes, Pallav
