India gets a representation for Adobe Certified Associate World Championship at Disney World from Sankalp Smart School

Sankalp Smart School, a brand of Veloces Consulting Services, along with Certiport, the organising body of Sankalp 2016 – Adobe Certified Associate India Championship announces the 2016 Adobe Certified Associate (ACA) India Champion and the Runners Up in the country.

The final leg of this competition is scheduled to be held at Disney World, Orlando from 7 to 10 August, 2016. The objective of this competition is to provide design students in India a platform to showcase their digital literacy in design skills and expertise to compete on a global platform. In the age of social media and mobile computing, students are significantly exposed to the power of IT. The winner will be representing the country at Disney World, Orlando, USA to compete in the ACA World Championship.

Students entered the competition by earning their ACA certification and submitting a design project which they created using advanced digital design skills on a theme – World Water Day. This championship facilitates students between 13 to 22 years of age to work on various softwares like Adobe Photoshop in any of the versions CS5-CS6 or CC, Adobe Illustrator in the versions CC and Adobe InDeisgn in the version CC.

At the ACA World Championship, students from over 60 countries are expected to compete to showcase their proficiency in utilising industry-leading Adobe software for digital media development.

The Sankalp 2016 – Adobe Certified Associate India Championship winner is Roshan Shivakumar – from Jawaharlal Nehru National College of Engineering, Bengaluru. Though not being from a design background, Shivakumar took graphic designing as his hobby and has managed to give an exemplary performance at the championship.

Along with the winner, the Runners Up for Sankalp 2016 are first runner up is Binoy Thomas from Pearl Acacdemy, Delhi; second runner up is Priyanshu Mukhopadhayay from Pearl Academy, Delhi and third runner up is Yash Kunder from Reliance AIMS, Mumbai.

Speaking on this occasion, Veloces Consulting Services, CEO, Shankaran Chettur said, “We are thrilled by the response received from the students across the country for this championship and we are confident that the competition would scale up to being the most sought after championship for budding design professionals in Graphic design. The idea is not only to open global avenues for Indian students but also to promote design based approach amongst the youth that our research indicates as a key trait today, the country is looking for. We are confident that this championship would provide the student a great launch pad to start his/her creative graphic design career.”

Also, animator, illustrator and comic creator, Abhijeet Kini, famously known for the comic character ‘Angry Maushi’ was present at the event and shared his insight on creating comics in the Digital world and his experience. He said, “It was great to see the enthusiasm of the participants who knew they were the chosen few, among many who had participated. Such is the confidence and push that they gain thanks to platforms like these. This way, we will be able to unearth so many talented kids all around.”
