India gets its ‘Hollow Man’ in ‘Mr X’; trailer reveals trailblazing use of VFX/special effects

Fox Star Studios (India) released the first official trailer of the highly anticipated Mukesh Bhatt production, Mr X, starring Emraan Hashmi and Amyra Dastur today. The film has been creating a lot of buzz as it draws inspiration from the ‘invisible man’ story of Mr. India that released way back in 1987 starring Anil Kapoor and Sridevi.

The film will be releasing in 3D, but also available in 2D beginning from 17 April, 2015. The film is written and directed by Vikram Bhatt, with Shagufta Rafique assisting Vikram in the scripting department.

The trailer gives a good sense of the storyline, with Emraan delivering some preachy dialogues about how god needs to also turn invisible to perform some evil deeds to do away with criminal activities. According to a few reports Emraan will be playing the role of a scientist, (Yes! We too could only think of Hollow Man).

The film boasts of heavy use of special effects, and award-winning British special effects supervisor, Neil Corbould (earlier worked on Gravity) has been roped in for it. Emraan has been vocal about this project and also mentioned that he tries to keep himself updated on the latest developments in special effects and animation as he find the areas interesting.
