India gets its ‘foodie’ superheroes

India has forever lacked a superhero that can match up to the super-awesomeness of some of the mighty Marvel and DC Comics characters, who can either bring the wrath of lightning and thunder along with them, or run faster than a speeding bullet, or have X-Ray vision or just like to smashhh things around them.

Well, the wait is (not over really) but has been given a ‘foodie’ twist with Delhi based illustrator Raj Kamal giving India its very own desi superheroes, who will certainly build up an appetite for some ass-kicking!

Raj with his unique art style has managed to convert regular Indian street food into strong and lethal superheroes. There is Idlii Man, who can fling idlis with great accuracy into his adversary’s mouth, while the twisty Jalebi Woman dunks her enemies in sugar syrup after tying them in knots.

Similarly there are Laddoo Boy, Misti-Doi Man and Samosa Boy, who each posses their super-scrumptious powers to defeat their opponents.

Raj is a graphic designer trained from Government art college in Kolkata. He is an Art Consultant, a Painter, a Photographer Par Excellence and a Digital Artist and he is presently working for the The Economic Times, New Delhi.
