Hungama Play announces version 2.0; offers over 23000 hours of video content

Hungama Play, India’s leading VoD service, announced the biggest content expansion and feature upgrade with its version 2.0. With the upgrade, Hungama Play aims to enhance consumer experiences with an addition of over 7000 hours of video content along with new and exciting features such as download manager and swipe gesture controlled media player. Besides the vast movie library of over 8000 titles, Hungama Play 2.0 launches new sections including television, music videos, kids, short movies as well as live events across genres and languages with over 45000 video pieces to choose from.

Hungama Play has entered strategic content partnerships with leading content creators and production houses such as Sony, BBC, ITV, Rajshri, Sun TV Network, Maa TV and​ NDTV Lifestyle ​among others ​while continuing the long-standing association with some of the biggest content providers including Warner Bros, Yash Raj Films, UTV Disney and Balaji Telefilms. Hungama Play will also soon be foraying into original content with the addition of five new series by March 2017. With new, enhanced features and addition of new content categories Hungama Play is set to become the most preferred destination for on-demand video services.

The new kids catalog caters to pre-schoolers from the age of two years to young teenagers. Noksu, Fimbles, Peekaboo, Nelly & Nora, Danny and Daddy, HI5 and Akbar Birbal are some of the popular kids series that have been added to the catalog. Kids offering also includes the biggest animated blockbusters from Disney like Wreck-it Ralph, Tangled, Wall-E and Finding Nemo. In addition to this, short films and documentaries highlighting social causes, historic events, pop culture in Hindi and English are also part of the new offering.

The new app is also loaded with new interesting features like downloading and offline video viewing, download scheduler and swipe gesture controlled video player ensuring an unparalleled consumer experience. With the ‘download scheduler’ the users can schedule the time of the download and select the internet network (Wi-Fi or data connection) over which they would like the download to take place. The download manager allows users to manage the content downloaded from the app as well as the local content on their device making it a central location for accessing all videos.

The touch-enabled feature on the video player allows users to increase or decrease the volume and brightness, and seek through the video with a simple swipe on the screen while the video plays.
