Golden Globe Awards announces nominations for ‘Best Animated Feature’

The honourable American accolade, The Golden Globe Award, has been recognising and appreciating excellence in film and television since decades. And continuing its legacy, the 73rd Golden Globe Awards has announced its nominations for the Best Animated Feature.

The nominations have thoroughly entertained the audience around the globe and are quite justified to compete for this honour. The nominations include Paramount Pictures and Starburns Industries’ Anomalisa, Disney and Pixar Animation Studio’s The Good Dinosaur and Inside Out, 20th Century Fox and Blue Sky Studios’ The Peanuts Movie, and Aardman’s Shaun the Sheep Movie.

Well, the more we speak about these animated fabrications the less it is as these features have received several awards and are also in the race for the highest honour- The Oscars.

There were several reactions by the directors of these features on being nominated. Steve Martino, Director of The Peanuts Movie, said, “This really is an incredible honour for the movie and I know I speak for everyone at Blue Sky and Fox Animation when I say a heartfelt thank you to the Hollywood Foreign Press. We are all honoured to carry on the legacy of Charles Schulz and are thrilled to see audiences around the world embracing the film and that a whole new generation of fans are discovering the characters.”

Richard Starzak and Mark Burton, Writers/Directors of Shaun The Sheep Movie expressed, “We’ve just heard about the nomination and just like our film, we are speechless.”

Charlie Kaufman and Duke Johnson, Directors of Anomalisa, commented, We are excited and honoured to be recognised by the HFPA, especially alongside such great animated films. We share this honour with our immensely talented cast — Jennifer, David and Tom — and the best team of animators, designers, craftspeople and technicians who worked with such passion to bring ‘Anomalisa’ to life.”

Pete Docter and Jonas Rivera, director and producer of Inside Out, said,“It has been incredibly humbling to see the reception to Inside Out by audiences around the world. We set out to make a film that would help us better understand our children, but never imagined it would have the impact that it has.”

Pete Sohn and Denise Ream, director and producer of The Good Dinosaur, said, “Creating The Good Dinosaur has been an arduous, exhilarating, and even at times terrifying, but life-changing adventure, not so unlike Arlo’s journey in the film. On behalf of our hard working crew and everyone at Pixar, we would like to thank the Hollywood Foreign Press.”

The award is given by the members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) and the winner will be announced on 10 January 2016, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.
