Global Screen sells Grimm Brothers’ fairy tale to various International brands!

Munich-based Global Screen has sold its 3D animated movie The 7th Dwarf rights to US based company, Shout! Factory along with several other international buyers that includes Signature Entertainment (U.K.), Rialto Distribution (Australia), Italian International Film, Flins & Piniculas (Spain) and PRIS Audiovisuais (Portugal).

The German 3D-animated feature is based on the Snow White fairy tale. It’s a story about Bubi, the seventh dwarf, who accidentally pricks the sleeping princess, triggering the curse of an evil ice queen and sending the entire kingdom into a century-long slumber. He and his six cohorts then travel into the future with a charming prince and a suicidal dragon in an effort to save their fairy tale kingdom.

Global expects to close a deal for France soon as well. The film had previously sold across Asia, Latin America, Eastern Europe and the Middle East.

The movie has been created by German comedian Otto Waalkes. Two previous live-action versions of the series have together grossed around $75 million in Germany alone.

The film, which was released in Germany on 25 September by Universal and 3 Freunde Filmverleih Germany with 550 prints, has been positioned at number eleven and has earned around $1.8 million at German box office till date.
