Fallout 4 breaks GTA V record for most concurrent players on Steam

The long awaited Bethesda game Fallout 4 has not only managed to gain positive reviews among the gaming community but has also managed to break a record in the process. The game released on 10 November, the game already had more than 290,000 playing the game on the opening day on popular gaming platform Steam.

The game then went on to reach the peak setting a record of 445,546 users on Steam on the next day itself. The record which was previously held by Grand Theft Auto V for the most concurrent players had 360,000 players playing the game simultaneously. GTA V broken the record of another Bethesda title Skyrim which when released in 2011 drew attention of 280,000 users.

These numbers are for the games which are not developed by Valve, the company which manages Steam. Two games that have amassed huge numbers repetitively are Valve’s two most popular games, Counter-Strike Global Offensive and Dota 2, 820,000 and 1.26 million concurrent players respectively. These numbers are majorly due to the multiplayer elements.

Fallout 4 has been appreciated for its great gameplay, open world setting and engrossing storyline.
