Entertainment One Licensing (EO) has announced that Plus Licens AB and Mondo TV will be handling the licensing in Eastern Europe for its hit preschool property Peppa Pig.
As per the agreement, Plus Licens AB will manage consumer products programme for Peppa Pig in Poland, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and Czech Republic and Slovakia. Mondo TV Suisse will undertake licensing and merchandising in Serbia, Montenegro, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegoovina, Macedonia and Kosovo.
Entertainment One head of international Licensing Ami Dieckman said, “We’re delighted to be welcoming Plus Licens and Mondo TV on board. Both companies share our vision for the brand and will play a key role in helping us to realise the potential of Peppa Pig in this exciting new market.”
Peppa Pig was first aired in 2004 and has since then completed five series. The five minute shorts are produced by Astley Baker Davies and distributed by Entertainment One. In February 2015, a 54 minute animated film called Peppa Pig: The Golden Boots was released. The show has won awards such as the British Academy Children’s Awards and the Annecy International Animated Film Festival.
