Educational kids’ entertainment app Hopster expands on Apple TV

Educational kids’ entertainment app Hopster continues its successful summer with a few new developments at the London-based company. Hopster launched on Apple TV in the UK this past May, and is now launching on the platform in an additional 100 countries.

The app is already live in Australia, the Middle East, South East Asia and India. Hopster on Apple TV offers hundreds of hand-picked episodes of top preschool shows from around the world, and features a special “Discover” mode which groups episodes according to curriculum categories, along with seasonal themes and specials.

To support this expansion, Hopster is bolstering its technical team with a new chief technical officer, Chris Brooke. Brooke joins the company from Quib.ly and will be responsible for expanding the in-house engineering team and continuing to build its technical architecture. MADE.com CTO also joins Hopster’s board as an advisor.

In the UK, the two-year-old company’s core market, users will see a return of two family favorites as Hopster offers up The Gruffalo and The Gruffalo’s Child – plus, for the first time ever, Magic Light Pictures’ Room on the Broom. These titles are available for a three-month window in the territory.
