US pay TV service provider DirecTV has inked a deal with Disney which will have Watch ABC, Watch ABC Family, Watch Disney Channel, Watch Disney Junior, Watch Disney XD and WatchESPN so that DirecTV customers can access live and on-demand programmes. This includes news, entertainment and sports programming on computers, smartphones, tablets, gaming consoles and connected devices.
As per the multi-year distribution deal, customers of the provider can watch live network streams of ABC local channels that are available in eight markets in the US. Live events and programming from ESPN networks such as ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN3, ESPNU, ESPNews, ESPN Deportes, Longhorn Network, SEC Network and SEC Network+ are also accessible. During the season, ESPN Goal Line and ESPN Buzzer Beater will also be available on WatchESPN.
In addition to this, they can also watch current episodes of ABC and ABC Family original series, one day after their original telecast on ABC.com and ABCFamily.com. The same will be available on smartphones and tablets via the apps.
In order to get access to WatchESPN, customers have to log in via WatchESPN.com on their comps or via apps. This apart, they can also get access live and popular on-demand shows from Disney Channel, Disney Junior and Disney XD online at WatchDisneyChannel.com, WatchDisneyJunior.com and WatchDisneyXD.com as well as the apps.
