Bioscopewala Pictures sets up shop in Goa; to focus on creating original IPs

Bioscopewala Pictures is setting up an animation production studio in Goa. This will act as an extension to the company’s ongoing commitment and effort in growing its business in a strategic move.

“We believe that we have a strong case to invest in a studio. For the last two and a half years I have been working with studio partners across India and now I feel its time to invest in a studio myself”, said Bioscopewala Pictures founder and president Nishith Takia.

Bioscopewala has been involved in several projects as an outsourcing partner, with SheZow, Transformers (2D) and currently working with one of the largest toy manufacturer in the world on a web-series. Due to the absence of a studio, the work has been shared out with several partner studios. Although the company is thankful to it partners for having been very supportive, it has been facing recurring problems on deliveries, quality and commitment.

“With the volatility of the business, priorities of studios change affecting the projects, thus to have greater control on quality and overall productivity and delivery, Bioscopewala is ready to invest in its own studio,” expounds Takia.

On the choice of Goa as a location for the studios he exults: “Goa has a sense of freedom which I believe is an essential ingredient to creativity. We are very excited about the studio in Goa. Besides allowing a very fun and an exciting location to our team, we are hopeful of attracting a sizable foreign talent, further adding to the studios creativity.”

After the success of Delhi Safari, India’s first 3D animated National Award winning animated feature, Nishith Takia, started Bioscopewala Pictures over two and a half years ago. He is actively involved in producing his next animated feature, Circle of Fire with Arnab Chowdhury and Prana Studios. The film is slated to be ready by mid 2016.

Besides the strategic outsourcing projects, Bioscopewala has two animated TV series to be finalised with some of India’s largest kids channels. The new studio will  form an integral and a strategic part  of Bioscopewala’s expansion plan and in building a robust ecosystem.
