Battlefield 1 open beta begins today for Xbox, PS4 and PC

Battlefield has seen an immense number of fan following since the IP was created. Now, the creators, EA DICE are about to release Battlefield 1. Despite the name, the upcoming edition will be the 14th edition of the franchise and it will also be the first World War I based game that Electronic Arts (EA) has published since Wings of Glory back in 1994.

Being considered as one of the most anticipated releases of this fall, Battlefield 1 has today opened the gates to its action-based first person shooter as a part of their open beta phase. Players who want to try the game can check it out from Sony PlayStation store, Microsoft Xbox One store and PC users can get it from Origin.

Players who signed up for the Battlefield Insider program before 21 August were bestowed with access to the game a day prior, that was yesterday. Now, as the beta has been made open to everyone, players can hope in to the classic World War I adventure with horseback fights, flame throwers and almost everything that you would expect from this game.

Although it is just the beta, the game would be rewarding the players with a customised Beta Dog Tag on reaching level 15 and playing the game on four separate days, individually. This tag will be made available on the player’s account once the game is officially released on 21 October, this year.

During the beta phase two game modes will be available; ‘Conquest’ which features a large scale game mode, accommodating up to 64 players. It requires players to conquer the key objectives. The other mode is ‘Rush’ which is a 24-player mode where the defending team must hold their ground and stop attackers from destroying their telegraph posts which can be used to call artillery strikes. The map is called Sinai Desert and is described as “a scorching hot battlefield located just East of El-Jifar” on the official site.

So, if you want to get your hands on the shooter before it releases on 21 October, then go ahead and download the beta client and let us know about your experience.
