Aura Cinematics’ animated film ‘Sound of Joy’ gets a National Film Award

The jury of the 62nd National Film Awards announced the list of winners for the year gone by for both Hindi as well as regional movies created in India.

The Best Animation Film category saw the award go to Sound of Joy directed by Sukankan Roy for its flowing and engaging storytelling. The 52 minute long movie tells the story of modern day kids, struggling with their aspirations and expectations and how they get inspired by stories of Biley (Childhood name of Swami Vivekananda), who during his childhood was as naughty and spirited as any kid of these days, and how these stories, help and motivate them to fight any crisis, difficult situations.

The film stressed on the power of concentration. Produced by Aura Cinematics, the film is targeted at kids aged 5-11 years.

Established in 1954, the National Film Award is one of the most prominent award ceremonies in India. The Animation award was set up by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting  in 1967. However from 2009 to 2013, this category saw no awards being given out to animated movies. Sound of Joy had earlier won the Nashik International Film Festival and was also nominated at FICCI BAF 2014 for Best Animated film in the DVD category.
