Arena Animation’s first ‘Coffee Conversations’ kick starts with a bang

Arena Animation organised the first of its ‘Coffee Conversations’ at its Jayanagar (Bengaluru) India campus on 12 January 2019. The guest panel industry experts from different genres of film making including Yunus Bukhari from Artery Animation and FX and Unipix, Vivi5 Animation Art & Design Studio creative director and executive producer Mehul Mahicha, filmmaker Chaitanaya, Zynga India animation manager Elumulai Somu and MPC senior animator Ibrahim Basha.

The session began with a welcome note by Aptech assistant vice president Shajan Samuel. Explaining the idea behind ‘Coffee Conversations’ Samuel mentioned, “Arena Coffee Conversations is an unique opportunity for media aspirants to have an informal and candid conversations with industry experts on anything and everything . For series one for Jayanagar we have arranged an eclectic mix of speakers from the animation, gaming and VFX industry. We shall be doing more Arena Coffee Conversations in the month to come.”

These five industry experts shared details about their paths to success in their respective fields of expertise. The session was interspaced with the stories by the guests who narrated enlightening experiences in film making and answered queries from students on the nuances of film making. The success of the event can be gaged by the facts that the length of the session went beyond the scheduled time, the type and number of questions that were asked, and of course, the quality of responses. The audience comprised of a mix of students from different semesters and across different genres of  animation, VFX and their teachers.
