November 14-2014 celebrates Children’s Day with school kids on 13 November

Children’s day, in Hindi known as “Bal Diwas”, in India falls on 14 November every year and for a good reason. Children’s day in India is celebrated on Pandit Nehru’s birthday as a day of fun and frolic, a celebration of childhood, children and Nehruji’s love for them.

But it is not just that. This day reminds everyone to renew their commitment towards the welfare of the children and to teach them to live by Chacha Nehru’s ideals. And for grown-ups, it is an occasion to imbibe the qualities of childhood.

Well, taking that spirit forward – on the eve of Children’s Day celebrated the occasion with school kids in the city of Mumbai in an ‘animated way’ to say the least. We at brought in the special day with a film screening at Fun Cinemas in Andheri West.

In association with Maya Digital Studios and with our experience partners Dolby Laboratories, kids got to enjoy Motu and Patlu on the big screen for a change. And not just that they also got the extra bonus of catching the new blue-eyed boy of the Indian animation world with an episode of Kisna that airs on Discovery Kids everyday at 2:00 pm.

The film that was shown to the kiddie brigade was ‘Motu Patlu Kungfu Kings’, but what took the kids by surprise was the presence of Motu and Patlu at the venue. The tiny totters couldn’t hold their excitement as they ran to get a glimpse of their favourite characters ‘in skin’.

The event was well supported by our channel partner Discovery Kids and other support partners in Nick India and The cinema hall was buzzing with kiddie chatter, laughs and giggles as the kids feasted on some great popcorn, pepsi and samosas. After the movie the kids had more surprises in store for them as they were given a visit by some rather famous kiddie faces from tellyworld.

Captain Tiao (Sadhil Kapoor) along with the star- cast of Maharana Pratap (Roshni, Vishal, Yash) visited them on the occasion and gave away a few prizes for simple quiz questions and also interacted and entertained them with their presence. And finally the kids bid adieu to them as they each got to take home specially created balloons for the event. would like to wish all its readers a very Happy Children’s Day and encourages one and all to spread the joy and cheer among kids on this very special day. We also take this opportunity to thank all our partners for supporting in this great initiative.
