Please share the basic ideation and philosophy behind this workshop?
Being a relatively new industry in India, children and their parents while being consumers of ‘animation’ are not aware of the great career prospects this sphere has to offer. The workshop aims to get students deep into the world of ‘animation’ in a fun and stimulating manner by teaching them the practical skills they need in order to create their own short animation film and the exposure and resources they need to further pursue this as a career option in the future if the so wish.

Where is the workshop going to take place and who would be conducting it?
The workshop is going to be conducted by the experienced Faculty of Anibrain. These very people are also the senior artists at our studio. This will ensure that every student that enrolls for the course is learning the best of studio techniques that are being imparted to them by leading professionals. This ensures that the skills picked up by each and every student is of the highest caliber and is the same that are being used currently by the leading industry professionals.

Apart from the mentioned topics, are there any other interesting areas that you would share with the students?
The participants of the course will find themselves completely immersed and mesmerized by the world of ‘animation’.  They will not only learn the tools of the trade, but will go beyond the mere tools to explore and master the fundamentals of ‘animation’ and this will give them not only the technical ability but also the creative ability to make great short animated films to share their vision with others by communicating it in a manner than is fun, dynamic and effective. Best of all, they will have so much fun in the process that they will want to further develop their skills. Keeping the age group that this course is for, we know they will need to complete several years of schooling before they are able to make career choices. Hence, we have designed the course in such a manner that they skills they learn here can immensely help them in their current role as school going people. That is, these same skills in animation can be applied in creating world class presentations for their school such as animated physics experiments, animated stories describing historical characters they are studying about and many more such applications that will help them learn in a manner that is more fun and yet more effective at the same time. The whole aim is to empower them with tools that will not only develop their right and left brain, but also teach them how to apply their knowledge to get the most out of their environment.

What is your take on kid’s potential in exploring and creating animation?
Kids today are born in the digital world. It is a very natural part of their environment that today they just seamlessly integrate into. Unlike previous generations who saw the advent of the digital world and had to consciously teach themselves digital and cyber skills and make a tremendous effort to adopt this new way of the changing modern world for today’s children this is a reality that they are born with and pick up these nuances in a very natural process. This exposure from birth and their digital skills that they have been collecting over the years will allow them to quickly grasp all that is being taught to them in the course and use it in their everyday life to maximize their potential.

Till when can one apply for admission and what is the procedure?
The course is starting from April 2013 onwards and we will be having monthly batches with limited number of seats. Hence, while we do have ongoing batches, we suggest interested candidates get in touch with us a month before for counseling and booking their place in the course to avoid the disappointment of not getting a seat for the time that is best suited for them.
